CarSpotter Kids is designed for children. We respect kids’ and families’ privacy. This policy explains the very limited data the app uses, in plain language.
Nothing. CarSpotter Kids never asks for, receives, or stores your name, email address, age, phone number, location, contacts, photos, or any other personal information.
The app saves your favorite cars, your scores, your difficulty setting, and a nickname (only if you type one to use Battle Mode) directly on your device using your browser’s local storage. This information stays on your device and is never sent to us.
When you create or join a Battle Mode room, your device connects directly to your friends’ devices using a peer-to-peer (WebRTC) connection. A signaling service (PeerJS) helps your devices briefly find each other to start the game. PeerJS does not collect personal information about players. Game data — the cars, your answers, scores, and chat messages — is shared only with players in your room and is not stored anywhere after the game ends.
If you tap “Share Battle Link” or “Send My Cars,” the app uses your device’s standard sharing feature (Messages, Mail, AirDrop) to let you send a link. We do not see what you send or who you send it to.
CarSpotter Kids does not display advertisements, does not include third-party advertising networks, does not include third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and does not require an account or login of any kind.
To deliver bug fixes and new features, the app uses Expo’s update service. When the app launches, it checks Expo for the latest version using a random, anonymous identifier. No personal information is sent.
CarSpotter Kids is built for children and follows the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Apple’s Made for Kids guidelines. Because the app does not collect personal information from anyone, no parental consent is required. If you are a parent and want to remove your child’s data, simply uninstall the app — all data lives only on the device.
If we update this policy in the future, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
